Day 29

“All right guys, I told my mom and dad I am planning to explore and make new adventures for entire day, so we need to do this quickly.”

I didn’t like the fact that the little Jock was risking his own life for me, although that showed he cared for me as for someone who was worth taking the risk.

“I don’t think this is a good idea, though.”

“Well, you should think less, Spider. And we all know why that is the case. We have to go back to the witch and ask her if the Chicken Jockey is the innocent yet powerful mob she was referring to.”

The more I was told not the think the more active my brain was. Please, brain, just stop it already! Stop it! Don’t think just for a while there. You can’t?

Well, try thinking about that flower! Yes, the flower! Just look at the flower!

It is not working the way I imagined it would work.

For block sakes!

My thoughts were interrupted by strangely disturbing noises coming from the bushes.

“Guys…do you hear that?”

Everyone heard it and we all stopped walking.

“This doesn’t sound good, does it?”

“Stop thinking, Spidey!”

“It doesn’t feel right!”

All of a sudden, right from the bushes, there appeared four Villagers all wearing armor, fully prepared and well-protected – they were pretty handy and smart. Too bad most of the Villagers (all, probably) were using that craftiness and wit for things that weren’t that good for the rest of the mobs (weren’t good at all!).

What I didn’t expect before we all started to run…I mean before we tried to run away, is to hear the Villagers speaking to me. At first I thought it was some kind of a mistake. How was it possible for them to speak my language and understand what I was saying???

“We meet again, Spider!”

“You forgot about our agreement, didn’t you?”

They pulled out bows and arrows and there I was slowly realizing who they were in reality. There were lots of times when I thought about the elders, thinking about who they could be, but never have I thought those would be their faces.

“Elders???”

Fig and little Jock were silent and probably as surprised as I was.

“They are the Elders???”

I heard Fig saying what I thought.

“That is right. We are the Elders. I am surprised you are surprised as much as you are – we thought you would know who we really are. After all, the villagers ARE, always WERE and always will BE the smartest and the strongest mobs in the world of blocks.”

“That is not true…”

“Huh! A word from a slow-brain-good-for-nothing Zombie! I don’t even have to run or try to defeat you, FIG! You are all already defeated.”

“Let them go, please…you want me, right?”

“Spider, no!”

“Let Fig and Chicken Jockey go and I will come with you…”

“Why would we need any of you for that matter? We could slay you all at once, right this moment! You are outnumbered, armless and weak. The Zombie even lacks a hand!”

They were laughing – they were amused with our weaknesses and I was afraid they would hurt my friends.
